The Academy of Performing Arts proudly celebrates its 36th Anniversary, we would like to take a moment to share with you some of the exciting accomplishments of the institution over its lifetime. Please join us in supporting the continued work of this fine organization by becoming a member. Since 1976 The Academy has touched lives in many ways:
• Patrons have purchased over 400,000 tickets.
• 1976 started with 25 students; by 1986 the student body grew to 125; today 600 students actively participate in weekly classes.
• More than 1,500 jobs have been created for local artists – choreographers, musicians, dancers, teachers and directors.
• A t least 60,000 Cape Cod students have directly experienced performing arts in their schools through the Outreach Program.
• 6,000 volunteers have given tirelessly of their time and talents.
• Actors have graced the stage in over 5,000 roles.
The commitment and pervasiveness of the Academy is remarkable. As 98% of the professional and artistic employees are local Cape residents, revenue has stayed in our local economy and contributed to the quality of life right here in our own community. Over the last 36 years, the good work of this organization has changed lives, inspired growth, and launched careers. The passion and commitment from all involved is awe-inspiring.
The Academy is a local treasure with an exciting future; please join us in keeping this vital institution thriving! We look forward to seeing you soon in the theatre, in the studio, or at one of our sparkling community events.
With enthusiasm and many thanks,
